Il sindaco di Falerna Daniele Menniti in merito alla questione dei fondi necessari alle opere d’intervento di ripascimento e contenimento dell’erosione costiera ha dichiarato che “per poter compiutamente proteggere i 5,5 chilometri di costa Falernese gli importi sarebbero - secondo una stima approssimata - dell'ordine di ben 16 milioni di euro, che vanno aggiunti ai due milioni di euro della gara attuale. Un importo quasi pari al doppio di quanto servirebbe per la realizzazione della cabinovia da Falerna Marina a Falerna Paese e il recupero del centro storico da trasformare in albergo diffuso secondo il paradigma dal progetto Comunità Ospitale, previsto nel sistema Borghi Autentici d'Italia”.

INFATTI, bravo l'ing. Menniti!!! lo sanno tutti che a Falerna servirebbe più una cabinovia che una spiaggia (forse si è dimenticato che amministra il comune di Falerna e non quello di Camigliatello?)...

Ma perchè intestardirsi sulla costruzione di questa cabinovia??? Forse perchè sulla spiaggia non si può speculare e soprattutto non si può costruire??? (ma questo il vostro sindaco lo sa bene visto che è stato rinviato a giudizio per l'abusivismo edilizio ex palazzo 'Furci'.

A dire il vero un esempio reale del disastro economico/ambientale che investirà il comune di Falerna esiste ed è la ‘FUNIVIA DI ERICE’
Erice, assieme a Taormina, è uno dei poli turistici più noti e frequentati della Sicilia (non come Falerna…).
Per agevolare il raggiungimento della vetta da parte dei turisti e dei residenti, è stata inaugurata il 9 luglio 2005 la nuova funivia per Erice; infatti da diversi decenni la vecchia funivia, che era stata la prima ad essere realizzata nella Sicilia del dopoguerra, era stata successivamente disattivata.
“L’impianto funiviario, completato in due anni di lavoro è stato costruito dall’Associazione Temporanea di Imprese formata dalla Leitner s.p.a., dalla Tecnicon s.r.l. e dalla Coling s.p.a. per una spesa complessiva di oltre 12 milioni di euro!!! (altro che quelli che ci vuol far credere Menniti)”.

La distanza tra la stazione di valle (40 metri sul livello del mare) e quella di arrivo (703 metri di altezza) viene coperta in dieci minuti da 47 cabine che trasportano simultaneamente otto passeggeri ciascuna (quasi come quella che si costruirà a Falerna).

La società che gestisce l’impianto la FuniErice è stata messa in liquidazione il 28/10/2008! dopo soli 3 anni di attività!!! con perdite medie annue di oltre 100.000,00.

Chi ci guadagnerà dalla costruzione dell’impianto? il comune non di certo, i falernesi nemmeno. Ma chi appalterà i lavori e costruirà l’impianto sicuramente…
